Nature Play Day
Nature Play Days incorporates nature-based educational programming that offers a unique and immersive learning experience fostering a deep appreciation for the environment, while providing valuable educational opportunities. Our free The City of Barrie Nature Play Trailer can be found in parks all around the City, offering free nature-based games and activities for kids and families. The trailer houses a variety of natural loose parts and is a mobile way to connect with the community. Working with our partners, the trailer brings environmental education and fun to you! Kids can try their hand at fishing by catching colorful pipe cleaner fish from a bucket of water. Once they've made their catch, they can sort the fish by colour, size, or type, and take on the challenge of feeding the hungry sharks! This hands-on activity encourages fine motor skills, sorting and counting practice, and provides a fun way to learn about aquatic life.
