Doors Open Barrie took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026. It showcased the history and architecture of our city and celebrated some of the places that make our city special. Each year, communities across Ontario dedicate a day for local sites of interest to be opened to the public for free tours.
Doors Open Barrie was hosted by Creative Barrie, part of the City's Recreation & Culture Services Department's culture branch, in partnership with the City’s Heritage Committee and the Ontario Heritage Trust.
Doors Open Barrie was once again paired with City’s Culture Days programming, providing a unique opportunity to present free, hands-on arts activities in Doors Open sites, giving you a chance to learn about Barrie’s arts, heritage and business community.
