Residents are invited to attend one of these informational pop-up events to learn more about the Minet's Point Park Redevelopment.

The purpose of the pop-ups is to raise awareness of the project and connect with the broader community. For consistency and to ensure feedback is captured effectively, we encourage residents to share their input through the online survey.

In alignment with the Council-approved 2023 Waterfront Strategic Plan, the goals of the future Minet's Point Park redevelopment include:

  • improving access to the water
  • enhancing environmental features
  • improving connection to the surrounding neighbourhood

Three individual, but coordinated projects are currently underway or planned for the Minet’s Point Park area, to improve infrastructure and renew the public space. These include:

This public consultation will focus on refining a conceptual plan that will inform the Park's future detailed design and implementation.

The preliminary concepts and survey are available on the City’s community engagement platform at BuildingBarrie.ca/MinetsPointParkEngagement

The City's Nature Play Trailer will be on-site at both events!

Kids can try their hand at our 'fishing'  game while learning about the fish of Lake Simcoe. This hands-on activity encourages fine motor skills, sorting and counting practice, and provides a fun way to learn about aquatic life. Other Nature Play activities will be on hand for all ages and abilities.

Note: Sessions are subject to weather and may be cancelled without notice.
