(Barrie, ON) – The following City of Barrie services will be affected on the Labour Day holiday on Monday, September 2:
- Barrie Transit will run on a Sunday service schedule on Monday, September 2.
- Recreation/Community Centres will be closed on Monday, September 2.
- City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 2.
As well, residents are reminded of the following:
- There will be no change to the waste collection schedule on Monday, September 2; curbside collection will occur as regularly scheduled. Visit barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection for more information on curbside collection services and to look up your collection schedule.
- Downtown parking (on-street and lots) is not enforced on statutory holidays. Waterfront parking is enforced 24/7/365. To park for free in select waterfront areas, vehicles must be registered with a digital waterfront parking permit. Visit barrie.ca/parking for details.
- Fireworks are not permitted on Labour Day or surrounding days as per the Regulatory Matters By-law. Without a business licence for fireworks/pyrotechnic display and/or an applicable Special Event Permit, fireworks are only permitted on Victoria Day, Canada Day and New Year’s Day, and for the duration of the Lunar New Year and Diwali.
