The City is undertaking improvements to Hotchkiss Creek from Highway 400 to Tiffin Street. Improvements incorporated into the project have been identified in the City’s Drainage Master Plan.
The project will feature a Stormwater Peak Flow Attenuation Facility constructed within the 50 Wood Street property and the realignment and replacement of the culvert passing under the Barrie-Collingwood Railway.
The Stormwater Peak Flow Attenuation Facility will be constructed as a partnership with the developer and will happen at the same time as the construction of the development.
The culvert passing under the Barrie-Collingwood Railway is in poor condition and needs to be replaced with a larger size culvert to improve water flow during storms.
