The Barrie Public Library inspires lifelong learning, builds community connections, and ensures equitable access to knowledge, resources and programs. The Library is committed to innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, and provides safe and welcoming spaces that help our community connect and discover opportunities. During Doors Open, come and explore the facilities and enjoy Culture Days programming — which includes the Repair Café (bring your broken household items and see if the “fixers” can repair them — registration required) and “A Street in Barrie” mural painting project.

Doors Open Barrie is supported by Creative Barrie, the cultural development branch of the Economic & Creative Development Department. This year, Doors Open Barrie is incorporated into the City’s Culture Days programming. When paired with Culture Days, it provides a unique opportunity to present free, hands-on arts activities in Doors Open sites, giving residents and visitors a chance to learn about Barrie’s arts, heritage and business community.
