This Museum contains artefacts relating to the history of the Grey & Simcoe Foresters, an infantry regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Museum houses artefacts dating from the earliest period of the Regiment, before Canadian Confederation, and leading up to the present day. The are numerous artefacts dating from the First World War, 1914-1918, as well as from the Second World War, 1939-1945. There is no charge for admission to the Museum. Donations may be made if so desired. Knowledgeable Guides are present during Museum hours to explain exhibits and to provide tours of the Museum. All are welcome!
Doors Open Barrie is supported by Creative Barrie, the cultural development branch of the Economic & Creative Development Department. This year, Doors Open Barrie is incorporated into the City’s Culture Days programming. When paired with Culture Days, it provides a unique opportunity to present free, hands-on arts activities in Doors Open sites, giving residents and visitors a chance to learn about Barrie’s arts, heritage and business community.
