Information Technology Department

The Information Technology Department supports the technology and communication needs of all City departments, City Council, affiliated agencies (Barrie Public Library, Barrie Police Service) & area municipalities receiving BFES dispatch services. IT also plans, implements, and maintains solutions to help modernize and improve City services.

Staff work to provide daily support to over 1100 users at more than 40 City locations, supporting over 100 applications and systems and the network infrastructure required to support all operations.

The department is responsible for two program support service areas: IT Application Delivery and Data Management, and Infrastructure Tool Access (Data and Voice). The department is organized into five branches:
