About the Proposed Development

The Official Plan Amendment was cancelled as the use is permitted through the new City of Barrie Official Plan (2024). The Zoning By-law Amendment to permit commercial uses on this vacant light industrial site was approved on November 8, 2023. 

The application is now proceeding through Site Plan Approval with City technical staff. The current proposal includes three (3) single storey multi-unit or multi-tenant buildings including a food store.
