This project included watermain replacement on Rose Street, from the Highway 400 on-ramp to Peel Street. The project was awarded to Leading Edge Earthworks.
This work was part of City Council's approved 2024 budget and aligns with a goal from Council’s strategic priorities to update and improve infrastructure throughout Barrie.

The Rose Street Watermain Replacement Project was successfully completed in mid-November. The watermain is fully integrated into Barrie's drinking water system. The completion of this work marks a significant milestone in enhancing our community’s water infrastructure and supporting the Bayfield Street/Highway 400 interchange design by the MTO. The project was delivered ahead of the initial estimated completion date in December.
