Transportation and Water Improvement to support Phase 1 growth in the Salem Secondary Plan area. Urbanize existing rural Salem Road and widen to three lanes from County Road 27 to Essa Road. Urbanize south half of existing rural Salem Road and widen to three lanes from Essa Road to Veterans.
Project Features
The preferred design includes:
- Mixture of urban and rural roadway
- New watermain infrastructure
- New storm infrastructure
- Three major water course crossings c/w LID installation
- New sanitary infrastructure
- Two 3.5m through lanes with a 4.2m two-way left turn lane
- 3m multi-use trail (west side)
- 2m sidewalk (east side)
- Street lights on both sides of the roadway
- Roundabout at Salem and Essa Road
