The City of Barrie annually introduces new furniture in parkland as part of the Waterfront Furniture Program.
In 2025, two new lounger pads will be added to the existing collection of lounger pads in Will Dwyer Park (85 Lakeshore Drive) along the pedestrian walkway, to create a total line of five lounger sets. The project will be implemented in two phases:
Phase | Timing |
---|---|
Phase 1: involves the pouring of the concrete pads for the furniture. | May–June 2025 |
Phase 2: involves the installation of the wood loungers and coloured umbrella stands pending delivery of the furniture order. | Summer–Fall 2025 |
Impacts to the Public
The impact to the public occurs during the concrete pouring, as parts of the pathway may be temporarily closed off to allow construction trucks to excavate the site. The sites will be enclosed by construction fencing to secure the curing of the concrete. The furniture comes preassembled and should have no impact on the public during installation.
