Sponsored by the City of Barrie for Culture Days 2025, Keepin' it Blue is a delightful outdoor art activity for the whole family that draws attention to the importance of caring for bodies of Land and Water. An extension of Jill Price's exhibition at the MacLaren Art Centre entitled From There to Here: Walking for Tomorrow, this eco-friendly alternative to traditional photo-processing techniques invites visitors to create playful sun prints on cyanotype paper using different objects Price has collected during her summer beach cleans around Lake Simcoe. Taking about 1/2 hour from start to finish, participants can stick around to witness how the sun exposes images or take a walk along the waterfront or to the gallery before coming back to help further develop the works on paper through a series of water rinsing stations. Come experience the magic!
