Environment Canada has issued an orange snow squall warning for Barrie, indicating a multi-day snow event.

The City has declared a Winter Maintenance Event for November 28, November 29 and November 30 to ensure maintenance crews can effectively clear the streets from the expected snowfall.

This means on-street parking is NOT allowed:

  • 12:01–7am on November 28–30 on City streets
  • 3–6am on November 28–30 within the Downtown Business Improvement Area

The City has winter maintenance crews on standby to address road conditions accordingly. Staff monitor the weather closely, and plows, salters and sanders are dispatched as needed.

Use Barrie’s Plow Tracker to view snow clearing progress in your neighbourhood and visit barrie.ca/snow for winter road and sidewalk maintenance updates.

Reminder: The City’s on-street seasonal parking restrictions begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, December 1 and are in effect until March 31.
