In collaboration with the Barrie Public Library, the City of Barrie’s Development Services and Building Services departments will present information about Additional Residential Units (ARUs) during the month of November.
City staff will provide information on:
- Planning: ARU planning and zoning requirements
- Building: building permit and inspection requirements for second suites (i.e., inside the home) and detached additional residential units (i.e., a separate unit on the property)
- Financing: available ARU funding options
We are offering two sessions, choose the one that works for you:
- Barrie Public Library, Downtown Branch | November 6, 2025, 6:30–7:30pm | Register to attend
- Barrie Public Library, Painswick Branch | November 13, 2025, 6:30–7:30pm | Register to attend
Drop-ins are welcome if space allows. There is no cost to attend.
