In partnership with The Rotary Club of Barrie, the COVID-19 Heroes and Memorial Garden was created in Sunnidale Park. The space where the old playground was located has been transformed into a garden complex and plaza recognizing the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our lives and community.
Latest Project Update

The Rotary Club of Barrie has completed works on the COVID Heroes and Memorial Garden, which is officially open to the public. The garden features new trees, shrubs, perennial plantings, limestone screening pathways and benches. It also features three unique areas for visitors to gather and reflect on the community's contributions and resilience, both during and after the pandemic.
