A compliance letter is a document describing a property's compliance or non-compliance with specific municipal regulations, by-laws, and codes. This page outlines the application process for various types of compliance letters.

How to Apply 

Apply for a compliance letter through APLI, the City's online application portal. Application fees are outlined below. You can expect your letter to arrive via email as a PDF attachment within 15 business days (if payment was made online, if applicable). Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see the email in your inbox. 

Once registered and logged in, click Submit an Application > Compliance Letters tab > Compliance Letters heading and then follow the prompts. Please refer to the APLI Compliance Letters Customer Portal Guide if you require assistance with applying online.  

Fees

The above fees include HST, where applicable. Fees are per current Fees By-law schedules and may be adjusted annually (see Schedule G for Barrie Fire and Emergency Service fees, Schedule K for building services fees, Schedule N for environmental services fees and Schedule Q for planning fees).
