Barrie Parks
Living in Barrie is a walk in the park! The City of Barrie maintains 300 hectares of scenic park space.
Please avoid crowds and maintain a distance of 2 metres from those around you. Refer to the Guide to Safe Outdoor Activities During COVID-19.
Closed Amenities in Parks
All City of Barrie municipal playground equipment, waterfront fitness equipment, dog off-leash parks, skateboard parks, tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas/pavilions are closed to public access.
Meridian Place Closed
Meridian Place in downtown Barrie is closed to the public.
Washrooms Remain Closed in Most Parks
All park washrooms remain closed for the season with the exception of heated washrooms within the Centennial Park building and Southshore Community Centre (located near Allandale Station Park and Military Heritage Park). All washrooms at Centennial Park and Heritage Park are expected to be open by April 30. Washrooms at Tyndale Park, Minet’s Point Park, Shear Park, St. Vincent’s Park and Johnson’s Beach Park are scheduled to open May 1.
