Barrie Parks

Living in Barrie is a walk in the park! The City of Barrie maintains 300 hectares of scenic park space.

The City has been maintaining more trails by the waterfront and in Sunnidale Park to create more space for people to exercise outside. Please avoid crowds and maintain a distance of 2 metres from those around you. Refer to the Guide to Safe Outdoor Activities During COVID-19.

Winter Wonderland in Sunnidale Park

We've created a series of Winter Wonderland displays of decorations and holiday lights for residents to enjoy at the Sunnidale Park arboretum throughout the winter season. Sunnidale Park is a popular outdoor space in the City for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and other outdoor winter activities. There are seven displays in three locations along the path.

Outdoor Ice Rinks in Barrie Parks

Weather-permitting, there are seven outdoor skating rinks maintained by City staff and as well as volunteer-maintained outdoor ice rinks in many parks.

Washrooms Closed in Most Parks

Please note that all park washrooms are closed for the season with the exception of heated washrooms within the Centennial Park building and Southshore Community Centre (located near Allandale Station Park and Military Heritage Park).

Please visit barrie.ca/services for the current status of all City services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
