There’s no age limit on staying active in Barrie. The
Allandale 55+ Centre and
Parkview Centre for 55+ offer recreation, education and fitness opportunities along with events and workshops for individuals 55 years of age and better.
While some facilities have reopened, the City currently has no approximate reopening date set for seniors centres. We want to be extra vigilant about keeping seniors safe as they are a high-risk group.
Connect and engage with other seniors through multi-person phone calls! This program is run by 55+ Centre staff and community partners. Enjoy a variety of topics each week ranging from informal coffee chats and fun brainstimulating games to health and wellness seminars and educational talks. The program is free and open to all seniors in Barrie.
Please view the
weekly guide for program and schedule details. To register, email
firstname.lastname@example.org or call 705-739-4223 and leave your name and phone number. Recreation staff will follow up with you.
Our centres are operated by Recreation Services; the focus is primarily on supporting our members in their quest for an active, healthy lifestyle. We invite you to drop by, become a member and experience the benefits of participation.
The City's 55+ centres offer a variety of special events & programs throughout the year. Check out our monthly newsletter PALS to stay up to date on what's happening, or refer to the Monthly Calendar.
