Waste Item Lookup Tool

Not sure how to dispose of an item in Barrie? Look it up to see how it's properly sorted for curbside pickup or otherwise. If unable to find what you're looking for, please call 705-739-4219 or email waste@barrie.ca to have the item added to the search results.

The future of waste management includes a circular economy. This means we need to rethink the traditional three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and consider the value of materials and products before they become waste. Let's rethink waste!

Please remember to ensure your materials are curbside by 7am (4:30am in the downtown BIA) for collection. If items are not curbside by this time, the City cannot guarantee they will be collected. Routing changes that could affect collection times can often occur for a number of reasons including weather, road closures and vehicle breakdowns.

While Barrie is geographically located in Simcoe County, the City of Barrie is governed separately. There are some differences to sorting items for curbside collection in the County and the City as different processors are used. If you live in Barrie, please refer to this lookup tool to be certain where items should go.
