As part of our commitment to embrace innovation and improve how we do business, the City's Bidding Process went paperless on October 15, 2018. This includes all open Request for Proposals (RFP), High Score Request for Quotations, and Low-bid Request for Quotations.

Bids & Tenders Subscription

​Documents are free to view, however you will need to register and subscribe to bids&tenders™ to download bid documents, receive notifications about new City of Barrie bid opportunities, and submit bids to the City of Barrie. Unlimited subscription to bids&tenders™ is $180.25 per year. The unlimited subscription provides access to bid opportunities for all agencies using bids&tenders™ in Canada. A one-time, pay-per-bid option is also available at $53.95 per bid.  

Digital Bonding   

The City of Barrie will ONLY be accepting digital bonds for any bids issued on or after June 1, 2021. Scanned bonds (Bid Bond & Agreement to Bond) will no longer be accepted for bids issued on or after June 1, 2021. Vendors are encouraged to contact their surety provider well in advance of submitting a bid as the process may take several weeks. Digital Signatures  

Effective May 10, 2021, the City of Barrie is implementing digital signatures for execution of its Purchasing Agreements with successful vendors using the DocuSign system. Successful vendors will not be required to acquire any software and will be able to successfully execute the agreements in a secure manner without physical contact. When an Agreement is ready for signature, the vendor's authorized signatory(ies), as indicated in the submission, will receive an automated email requesting signature via DocuSign. Where can I p​uchase a Digital Bond?

As of June 1, 2021​, the City will ONLY accept digital bonds. Vendors should contact their surety (bond) provider in advance to arrange for the preparation of a digital bid bond as this process can take several weeks.
