The Lobbyist Registry came into effect on January 1, 2024, and forms part of the City of Barrie’s Accountability and Transparency framework. The registry documents instances of substantive communication — such as telephone calls, meetings, or emails — from a lobbyist to a City employee and/or member(s) of City Council.
Effective January 1, 2024, anyone who engages in lobbying as defined in the Lobbyist Registry By-law must register.
On February 28th, 2024, phone conversation with Mayor Nuttal re: application by HK Travel ONroute for an exemption to build a Digital Buildboard on Provincial lands with a MTO Minsiterial Order. The conversation was 7 minutes long, the Mayor asked the nature of the project which I briefed him on, explaining Barrie was the only municipality applying by-law requirements to a Class 1 Highway project. He asked for a spot for the city on the board which is not available due to contractual obligations

On behalf of NL and Sea Cadets in Barrie we have been in talks to move the boat house to the other side of the lake for safety reasons, this includes a training location including a space large enough to include a parade square for various activities that are part of our training. For financial reasons we have agreed an outdoor area would suffice our needs & including the use for other groups to use as a playing field. Makes sense to include other groups to make 100% use of such an undertaking
