​Water/Wastewater Bill
Payment Options

Payments for water/wastewater bills can be made via your bank or directly to the City of Barrie.

In-person Paym​ents

Payment (cash, cheque or debit) can be made in person during regular business hours, 8:30am–4:30 pm Monday–Friday (excluding holidays). Face masks are required; please review safety precautions at City Hall. For resident convenience and to skip the line, appointments can be made in advance by calling 705-726-4242.

Alternative Payment O​ptions​

  • Pay online or by telephone with your bank*
    Set up payee using your water account number, found on your water bill.
  • Pay in person at your bank branch*
    Set up payee using your water account number found on your water bill.
  • Pay by cheque payable to the City of Barrie, ensuring that your account number is written on the memo line. Cheques can be sent:
    • by mail* to Service Barrie, Barrie City Hall, 70 Collier Street, P.O. Box 400, Barrie, ON, L4M 4T5
    • via City Hall drop boxes (front entrance at 70 Collier Street or entrance at Worsley Street parking lot)

* If paying through your bank or mailing a cheque, please allow enough time for payments to be received prior to the due date. Payments made via bank may take several business days.

Payment Plans

Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Plan

Water/wastewater billing PAP plans authorize the City of Barrie to process payments directly from a bank account you designate. Payments are equal to the actual amount due as billed, and are processed on the billing due date. To sign up, complete the Water/Wastewater Billing Pre-Authorization Payment Plan form and return it using one of the following methods:

Budget Billing Plan

With the budget billing plan, equal monthly installments are automatically deducted each month from a bank account you designate. The withdrawal amount is determined based on the consumption history at the property. Customers on this plan continue to receive bills that reflect actual consumption. Accounts are reconciled in September or October of each year and adjusted to reflect account balances at the time of reconciliation. To sign up, complete the Water/Wastewater Budget Billing Plan form and return it using one of the following methods.
